Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who jumped a barricade and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared video shows the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last winter.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while others called for digital services to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

The movie, to be launched on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual version of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two distinct characters.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, earning several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
