Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
