Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, generating strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.
