Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The strikes succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
