Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists contributing to Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The track features a combination of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the region was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
